The staff at this small town post office is anything but helpful and curteous. I called to ask what shipping boxes and materials they had and I was told they had "some" but I had to go over there and look for myself (apparently it was too hard to give a general description). Another time my fiance went in around 1:00pm (by his watch) and was greeted with a rude, "Didn't you read the sign? It says we're closed for lunch and we reopen at 1:00. Our clock still says 12:55 so you need to come back in 5 minutes."

Helpful Friendly staff.

They are very careless about delivering your mail. When I ordered a new passport, it was late in arriving. I looked in my neighbor's mailbox and there it was! It turned out it wasn't late at all. They had put it in the wrong box. You would think they would realize the importance of a passport, especially considering the number of undocumented immigrants in the state and put it in the correct mailbox.

Mail delivery can be inconsistent as far as when magazine subscriptions are supposed to come as well.

The post office knows every one. If you need an address correction or update they know it.

Also, I never received my census form. When I brought these events to the postmaster's attention, he didn't care at all.

Later, when there were problems with neighborhood kids stealing people's mail, I asked about getting a box with a lock. They said they would not do that, period. Again, a 'screw you' attitude from the wonderful people of Pecos.
